Making Who We Are

If I waited to know “who I was” or “what I was about” before I started “being creative”, well, I’d still be sitting around trying to figure myself out instead of making things. In my experience, it’s in the act of making things that we figure out who we are. ~ Austin Kleon

Tyler sent this post around to the family today and I thought I’d share it with the rest of the general universe. Granted, it was already posted to you, through Austin Kleon’s blog but, heck, W…Universe, whatever, let’s reiterate that it’s ‘good stuff’ (as Grandpa Jack would say).

Why it feels good to read this post:

  • He’s speaking from the heart which I think means he’s being
  • Honest
  • Exposing thoughts to the world = vulnerable (*this is hard!)
  • He’s got some insightful things to say = interesting (*this is also hard)
  • His way of explaining his discoveries are unusual, artsy, and interesting

Thought you might want the warm fuzzies too. ~emi
